Rod Fitzsimmons Frey has worked with startups since leaving engineering school. His roles included Director of Engineering with Jotter Technologies, Director of Engineering for Saflink Corporation, and Director of Product Development for Saflink. In those roles he built engineering teams and processes, worked with customer groups to define and enhance products, and helped the CEO explain the company to investors and stakeholders. Rod left SAFLINK to found CareerID.com, where he built a world-class psychological testing infrastructure for personnel selection and training.
David Quail David has been successful in startup environments leading QA efforts designing and implementing a strategy and process for sophisticated products. While at Saflink, David managed to instill an agile, test first culture in an organization that had long considered testing an afterthought. He succeeded because of his ability to understand a complex software architecture at a very low level; his familiarity with new, cutting edge testing technologies; his ability to understand customers true needs; and an ability to manage, motivate, and empower a testing team of diverse abilities. His ability to improve quality while accelerating development instead of delaying, has been highly effective in startup environments.
